This continuous programme started in 2016 to increase awareness of waste management and coral reef conservation.

After following different lessons and activities about segregation and waste management, the students are now segregating the waste in their school, they weekly take part in clean-ups and litter audits and they abolished single-use plastics from the school!

These students are also involved in coral restoration activities

They collected and planted their coral fragments and weekly they join the team to clean and maintain the restoration site.

The students tried different methods of active coral restoration and learnt how to collect data and how to do basic statistical analysis.

SCOUTS & muhyddin school

FINLAND INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

We worked with the Finland International School in 2022 when 4 students came to meet our team and learn more about our work and coral reefs.

After giving a presentation about coral reef ecology and biology, we did a small clean-up on the beach and went swimming at the restoration site!

The students were really enthusiastic about our work, and they decided to make a donation for the project!

Thank you very much for supporting our work!

madhifushi school

We met the students from Madifushi School (Thaa atoll) at the end of 2022, after a nice talk and presentation about the coral reef and fish community we went snorkelling in the lagoon to show them these organisms.

It was great to bring them into the water and their enthusiasm motivated us to do more of these activities. kids need to know what is part of their environment and once they can witness it with their eyes they will not want to come out of the water!
